SOIL 2110 – Introduction to Soil Science (Lecture & Lab).
Description: Examines soil formation, classification, and the physical, chemical, and biological properties of soils and their applications in the semi-arid environment.
Knowledge and Skills Students Gain: Soil genesis and classification, soil texture and structure, including soil texture by feel, infiltration using the coring method, soil sampling, gravimetric soil water measurement, bulk density, etc.,
AG 304 – Pest Management.
Description: Covers identification of weeds, insects, and other agricultural pests, along with biological, cultural, chemical, and integrated pest management strategies. Requires prior coursework in plant science and soils.
Knowledge and Skills Students Gain: Pest identification, integrated pest management (IPM), herbicide and pesticide use, biological control, weed science, and agricultural decision-making.
AG 401 – Shifting Paradigm to Sustainability in Agriculture.
Description: Examines the transition from conventional agricultural systems to sustainable agricultural practices and evaluates environmental, economic, and social sustainability.

AG 405 – Advanced Range Management.
Description: Advanced study of rangeland ecology and management emphasizing ecological principles, economics, grazing systems, and conservation of natural resources.

ACOM 1110: Agricultural Communications.
Description: Students are introduced to the history, theories, and principles of agricultural communication. The course explores how communication supports agriculture through journalism, digital media, public relations, extension, advocacy, and industry outreach. Students also examine career opportunities in agricultural communications and the role of media in communicating agricultural issues to diverse audiences.
Knowledge and Skills Students Gain: Extension skills, Capstone project with a real-life audience.
AG 494 – Senior Seminar
Description: Introduces a guest lecture series with professionals in academia and industry.
